Jefferson Park
Jefferson Park is a Beacon Hill public park and golf course whose broad site reflects Seattle's early park planning and later community recreation uses.
Why go
Go to Jefferson Park for a large Beacon Hill open space with a layered civic history. The site passed through plans for university land, an isolation hospital, a reservoir and cemetery before becoming a city park. The Olmsted Brothers included it in their Seattle park plan and designed its 18-hole golf course, which opened in 1915.
