South Park Bridge

South Park Bridge is a double-leaf bascule bridge over the Duwamish River, linking the South Park area with a working waterway near Boeing Field.

South Park Bridge

Why go

South Park Bridge is most useful as an industrial-era landmark on the Duwamish River rather than a dedicated sightseeing stop. The original bridge was built between 1929 and 1931, closed for rebuilding in 2010, and reopened in 2014 with new draw-span leaves. Its history explains the importance of this crossing to the surrounding South Park business district.

What to look for

  • South Park Bridge is a Scherzer rolling-lift double-leaf bascule bridge over the Duwamish River.
  • South Park Bridge reopened in 2014 after a rebuilding project replaced its draw-span leaves.
