The Statue of Lenin is a 16-foot bronze sculpture in Fremont, created by Emil Venkov and moved from Poprad after the end of Czechoslovak communism.

Statue of Lenin

Why go

Choose the Statue of Lenin if you are interested in how Fremont reuses unexpected public objects. Emil Venkov created the bronze work for Poprad, then it was removed after the 1989 Velvet Revolution and later brought to Seattle. Its political origin and new neighborhood setting make it a more thought-provoking stop than an ordinary decorative monument.

What to look for

  • Fremont's Statue of Lenin is a 16-foot bronze work by Emil Venkov.
