Why go
The former attraction belongs to Shenzhen's tourism history rather than a present-day sightseeing route. Its carrier, deck exhibits and military-themed performances once drew visitors to the Shatoujiao area. The park closed in 2016 and the ship left Shenzhen, so older references to a shipboard visit describe a place that is no longer here.
The full story
Minsk World opened in 2000 around the former Soviet aircraft carrier Minsk. The ship itself was the park's main attraction: visitors could go aboard parts of it and encounter military-themed displays, deck exhibits and performances. That unusual setting made a naval vessel a familiar tourism image in the Shatoujiao area. It also explains why older Shenzhen guides may still point readers toward a carrier near the border. The attraction ceased public operation in February 2016, and the ship left Shenzhen that April. These dates matter when reading old accounts of the site, because the object that gave the park its identity is no longer in the city. The former attraction therefore belongs to Shenzhen's recent tourism history; there is no shipboard visit to plan here today.
