Why go
The center was planned around views of sea, mountain and city, and that idea becomes clear as you move between galleries and outward-facing spaces. The Main, V&A and other galleries host different exhibitions; the building is a visit in its own right even when a particular show is not for you. Combine it with a short Shekou waterfront walk.
What to look for
- Fumihiko Maki's layered building faces the waterfront.
- Several galleries host distinct exhibition programmes.
- Sea-facing spaces look across Shenzhen Bay.
Useful to know
- Check the exhibition program, then continue onto the Shekou waterfront promenade.
- Some galleries have shorter access than the wider complex.
