Why go
This is a sequence of coastal sections rather than one small fenced garden. Mangroves and winter migratory birds share the route with skyline views, cycle paths and lookout points. Start near Shenzhen Bay Park Station to make the distance manageable, then decide how far west to continue; there is no need to cover the whole waterfront in one visit.
What to look for
- Mangroves grow along the bay's edge.
- Wintering birds gather along the shore.
- Lookouts frame views of Shenzhen and Hong Kong.
Useful to know
- Choose a starting section before you set out; the shoreline extends for many kilometres.
- Carry water on a longer walk or ride, as services are sparse along some sections.
