A bicycle works best when the ride itself is the outing, especially along a planned park-connector route. It is less simple as a substitute for rail across the city, where junctions, traffic and temporary roadworks can interrupt the ride. Check the route rather than assuming every mapped cycling line is separated from vehicles.
