Getting to Sintra from Lisbon
Rail is the clearest starting point for a Lisbon–Sintra visit; the station sits below the historic centre and the hill sights require further planning.

Arriving by train makes the town and its mountain attractions easier to separate into stages. Decide first whether to walk into the centre or connect onward, then check current rail and local transport information before relying on a particular service.
