Why go
This compact route suits visitors who want royal history and two very different Romantic estates on the same day. Start with the rooms of Sintra National Palace, then climb toward Biester Palace and the symbolic garden spaces of Quinta da Regaleira. The short São Martinho and Seteais viewpoints are optional pauses, useful if you have time and clear views. Allow the longest visit for Regaleira; its grounds reward an unhurried walk. The route has several uphill stretches and three substantial interior or estate visits, so check each site’s current entry arrangements before choosing a start time.
