Lake Bohinj
Walk beside Bohinj's mountain lake for broad water views and quieter shoreline scenery, choosing a section that matches your time instead of automatically circling the entire lake.
The lake brings the scale of the Julian Alps into an accessible valley setting. Its shores link Ribčev Laz and Ukanc with views towards wooded slopes and high rock walls. A partial walk is a useful destination in its own right; the full circuit is a much longer outing and can become impassable after prolonged rain.
What to look for
Lake Bohinj's shoreline opens views towards the wooded slopes of Pršivec.
The Savica enters the lake near Ukanc, while the Jezernica leaves it at Ribčev Laz.
