Piran Town Walls
Climb the surviving uphill fortifications of Piran for a view across the peninsula, where tiled roofs, the church and the sea form a compact coastal panorama.
The towers give a clear sense of Piran's position on a narrow headland and the role of its landward defences. This is a separate elevated stop above the old-town streets, with a stronger panoramic focus. Take time to compare the town's tightly packed buildings with the more open slopes around the walls before returning towards the centre.
What to look for
Piran's uphill towers overlook the tiled roofs of the peninsula.
The surviving fortifications show how the town defended its landward approach.
