Škocjan Caves
Join a guided visit into Škocjan's underground karst landscape, where the Reka River has carved an immense canyon beneath the limestone plateau near Divača.
The caves offer a river-canyon experience that differs from the formations and train journey at Postojna. The scale of the underground spaces explains why this landscape is recognised as World Heritage. Plan around the booked guided departure and the walking involved, then allow time above ground to understand the relationship between the caves and their collapse valleys.
What to look for
The Reka River has carved a large underground canyon through Škocjan's limestone.
Above-ground collapse valleys reveal another part of the cave system's karst landscape.
