Why go
The Staatstheater, Liederhalle and SI-Zentrum offer distinct starting points for a performance evening. Ballet, concert music and musicals involve different programmes and locations. Comparing those choices first helps you find the performance you want, then arrange the rest of the evening around the correct venue.
The full story
Stuttgart’s performing arts offer three useful directions for a visitor planning an evening. The ballet company belongs to the Staatstheater, so begin there if dance is your priority. For classical concerts, look at the Liederhalle programme. These are separate institutions and separate experiences; the appeal of one does not tell you what will be on at the other. Musical theatre takes the search towards Möhringen. The Apollo-Theater and Palladium Theater are the named stages to look for when comparing productions at the SI-Zentrum. Their location makes this a different evening plan from choosing a performance in the centre. Start with the art form, then check the production, venue and date together. That order avoids choosing an evening merely because a theatre name is familiar. Once you have selected a performance, use its actual location to plan travel and any meal or drink around it.
