Barangaroo Reserve

A six-hectare harbour park reshapes a former container terminal with sandstone terraces, native planting, coves and a continuous foreshore path beside Millers Point.

Barangaroo Reserve

Why go

Barangaroo Reserve offers a modern landscape response to Sydney's harbour geology. Reconstructed headland forms, layered sandstone blocks and dense native planting create changing water views while the Wulugul Walk reconnects previously inaccessible shoreline. The park's design is impressive, but its name and interpretation also invite attention to Barangaroo and continuing Aboriginal history.

What to look for

  • Sandstone terraces step down toward small coves and the harbour edge.
  • Native plantings recreate several ecological communities within a highly engineered landscape.

Useful to know

  • Use the relatively level foreshore path for the easiest circuit.
  • Continue to Walsh Bay or Darling Harbour rather than returning through the business district.
