Bougainville Park
Take a shaded break in Bougainville Park, a small central garden whose navigator’s bust and older civic setting connect a restful stop with Papeete’s history.
The park occupies a former public gathering place that has served several civic roles and names. Its Bougainville bust explains the name most people now use. Benches, a playground and the remaining postal building give visitors several concrete features to notice without turning the stop into a long historical tour.
