Fautaua Valley
Plan a permitted walk into Fautaua Valley for shaded paths and waterfall scenery close to Papeete, with more demanding terrain beyond the Fachoda bridge.
The valley offers a substantial nature outing without a long coastal drive. The initial route follows an easier wooded approach, while later branches lead into rougher waterfall country and historic remains. Choose a specific turnaround with local advice; a full valley expedition is very different from an introductory walk.
