Mara'a Caves

Walk into Mara’a’s leafy cave setting to see freshwater pools beneath rock arches, with hanging vegetation and an optical illusion in the largest grotto.

Why go

The three caves form one compact natural visit. In the largest, the arching ceiling makes the pool appear smaller and shallower toward the back than it really is. Ferns and mosses frame the rock openings. Enjoy the view from the visitor paths rather than treating the pools as an invitation to enter.

What to look for

  • Freshwater pools beneath cave arches
  • Ferns and mosses hanging from the rock

Useful to know

  • Keep to the visitor paths and observe any current swimming restrictions.
