Marae Ta'ata
Visit Marae Ta’ata in Paea to compare three adjoining ceremonial enclosures, a distinctive archaeological site whose layout makes Tahitian chiefly history visible.
The site brings together structures associated with different chiefs, giving visitors more to examine than a single stone platform. Look at the arrangement of courts, walls and masonry as evidence of a significant royal ceremonial place. A quiet, attentive visit is appropriate to its continuing cultural importance.
