Viru Gate
Viru Gate is the surviving pair of medieval gate towers at the eastern approach to Old Town. It gives a compact, readable introduction to how the walled town was entered.
Approach from Viru Street to see how the two round towers frame the entrance into the old town. It is a quick, legible starting point for understanding the former defenses before you continue toward the narrower lanes and other surviving sections of the wall.
