Khao Sok National Park
Khao Sok is a rainforest and limestone landscape in Surat Thani Province, with Cheow Lan Lake forming a distinct water-based outing. Park-office access and lake access should be planned separately.
The contrast between dense forest, steep limestone formations and the wide water of Cheow Lan Lake makes Khao Sok more varied than a single trail stop. A land-based rainforest visit and a lake trip ask for different transport and timing. Give the lake its own plan rather than assuming every park activity begins at the Khlong Sok office.
What to look for
Rainforest and limestone formations define the park landscape.
Cheow Lan Lake offers a separate water-based view of the terrain.
Rafflesia habitat adds a botanical reason to understand the forest.
Useful to know
Choose between the Khlong Sok park-office area and Cheow Lan Lake before arranging transport.
Check current access for the exact trail or lake activity you intend to use.
Prepare for wet conditions in this rainforest setting.
