Wat Suthat
Wat Suthat brings a major Buddha image from Sukhothai into Bangkok’s old civic centre. Its large vihara stands close to the Giant Swing, linking two distinctive landmarks on one walk.
Why go
The temple is worth time for the relationship between its main hall and the image it houses. TAT traces Phra Sri Sakyamuni to Sukhothai and explains why the building was conceived on an unusually large scale. After seeing the interior, step outside toward the Giant Swing to read how Buddhist and Brahmanical landmarks share this part of the capital.
