Toronto Subway and LRT
Toronto's rapid-transit lines connect downtown with Bloor–Yorkville, the University corridor, High Park and Scarborough, making them the backbone of longer sightseeing days.
Why go
Rapid transit is most useful for structuring the city, connecting Union, downtown, Bloor–Yorkville and districts farther from the core. Stations help explain why dense shopping and residential areas cluster along major corridors. Use the current TTC map to reach a district, then explore the surrounding streets on foot.
Useful to know
Choose the closest station to the district you want, then keep the rest of that segment above ground.
Check the current TTC map and service alerts; line names, connections and replacement services can change.
Allow extra time for transfers and station exits when a visit depends on a timed booking.
