Tulum Archaeological Site
Walk Tulum's walled Maya city between its inland defences and Caribbean cliff. This compact archaeological circuit suits visitors who want architecture, maritime history and sea views in one visit.
Start with the landward wall, then follow the established paths toward the coastal buildings. That movement from defensive boundary to sea-facing temples helps explain the city’s strategic position in regional trade. The site works best as one connected circuit: its smaller named structures offer distinct details, but the relationship between wall, buildings and Caribbean shore gives them meaning.
