Trams in Turin
Turin's trams form part of its wider public transport network. They are useful for surface journeys outside the metro corridor, with routes that connect several city districts.
Why go
A tram can be the simpler choice when your destination sits along a surface line rather than near a metro station. The historic Sassi–Superga railway is a separate, steep climb toward the basilica in the hills, so plan that outing as more than an ordinary city tram ride.
What to look for
The Sassi–Superga railway climbs from the Sassi area toward the Basilica of Superga.
From the Superga hills, the view opens across Turin toward the Alps.
Useful to know
Use the current GTT map to match a tram route and direction to your stop.
Plan the Sassi–Superga climb separately from an ordinary urban tram trip and check its current operation.
