Alanya
Alanya combines Mediterranean beaches with a fortified peninsula beneath the Taurus Mountains. Its Seljuk castle, tower and shipyard give the coast a clear historical focus.
Why go
The peninsula explains why Alanya became a stronghold, and the Seljuk buildings make that strategic role visible.
