Hierapolis
Hierapolis adds the ancient spa city above Pamukkale's terraces, with a theatre and extensive ruins that deserve their own walking time.
Why go
The archaeological area is more than a side note to the white pools below. Follow the theatre and the long spread of remains to see how a city developed around thermal waters. Pamukkale and Hierapolis share a site complex, but each offers a distinct experience and should be paced separately.
