Why go
Ponte Vecchio is a working crossing as well as a historic landmark, with goldsmiths’ shops on both sides and openings toward the Arno. The Vasari Corridor above recalls Medici movement between palaces. A short walk gives the essential experience; browsing shops or viewing it from another bridge can extend the stop.
What to look for
- The goldsmith shops lining the crossing
- Arno views from the central openings
- The Vasari Corridor above the shops
Useful to know
- Cross on foot between the Uffizi side and Oltrarno.
