The full story
Verona Porta Nuova is the main rail arrival point south of the center. Check your ticket carefully because some local services may use Verona Porta Vescovo to the east. From Porta Nuova, decide between walking and local transport based on luggage, weather and mobility; the historic core itself rewards walking once you reach Piazza Bra. A car is rarely helpful among the central pedestrian streets and controlled-traffic areas, but it can make sense for countryside visits such as Valpolicella. Airport, bus, rail and parking details change, so use the current official operator before travel. Inside the center, organize the day around short links between Piazza Bra, Piazza delle Erbe, the Adige bridges and nearby churches. Porta Vescovo is useful only for selected local services, so the station printed on the ticket should guide the final approach.
