The tower gives the lakeside cottages a vertical landmark. Its name refers to the popular song about Marlborough, rather than to a royal resident. Built as part of the Hamlet in the 1780s, it stood beside the facilities used for fishing on the lake.
Richard Mique, the queen’s architect, mixed buildings for hospitality with structures linked to farming and food production. View it from the lakeside paths.
