From the Warsaw World / Itineraries

Churches, Nowy Świat and Wilanów

Trace sacred and civic landmarks from St Anne's through Nowy Świat, then make a deliberate afternoon transfer to Wilanów Palace and gardens.

Churches, Nowy Świat and Wilanów

Why go

Begin at St Anne's Church while the Old Town approach is still calm, then follow the Royal Route past the Visitationist, Carmelite and Holy Cross churches. Continue along Nowy Świat to Staszic Palace and Three Crosses Square. The Grand Theatre lies off this line and should be included only for a booked performance. Wilanów Palace is a separate southern transfer and deserves the afternoon; do not squeeze in the university of technology or Złote Tarasy unless they serve a specific interest. This is a long day, so make Wilanów essential and choose no more than two church interiors.

Useful to know

  • Keep lower-priority stops optional and confirm any timed interior entry before setting out.
