Hlawga National Park
Hlawga National Park offers a wildlife and forest outing north of central Yangon. Its mini zoo and larger safari park give visitors two different ways to spend time among animals and greenery.
The operator separates the park into a walkable mini zoo and a much larger safari area, so decide which part matters most before you arrive. The landscape includes woodland and a lake catchment, and the operator also describes a jungle trek starting at Picnic Site 1. This is a substantial outing beyond the city centre, best approached with enough time for the grounds rather than squeezed between downtown stops.
What to look for
The mini zoo and the larger safari park offer distinct parts of the site.
Woodland and lake catchment give the animal visit a broader landscape setting.
The operator describes a jungle trek beginning at Picnic Site 1.
Useful to know
Check the operator's current arrangements for the safari area and jungle trek before travelling.
Allow a separate outing for Hlawga rather than combining it with central Yangon sights.
