Swe Taw Myat Pagoda
Swe Taw Myat is a white-and-gold tooth-relic pagoda near Yangon’s airport. Its spacious approach makes it a worthwhile northern sacred stop when traveling through Mayangone.
The pagoda offers a different visual language from Shwedagon’s solid gold stupa: white surfaces, gilded detailing and a broad ceremonial approach. It is particularly useful on a northern Yangon route, where sacred landmarks are more spread out. Confirm access before committing to a tight airport transfer.
What to look for
White walls and gilded ornament define the tooth-relic shrine.
A broad approach leads to the central pagoda.
Useful to know
Use a separate northern route or airport-area visit.
Remove shoes where required and confirm current access.
