Loved both of experiences and doing both the river and night safari made for a long day but totally worth it. Had extra time at the river safari so could do the extra boat trip around the lake. The animals looked well treated. The night safari was like nothing experienced before.
The zoo in Singapore is in 4 parts a fifth is being built at the moment. This tour includes 2 of the parts. The night safari is better than the River Safari but if you only do the night safari, you arrive late and don't have much time. With this arrangement, you have time to go through the river safari which means essentially looking at aquaria of different river systems in the world. The Amazon cruise ride is a gentle theme park type ride and the animals you see does depend on luck. It is only 10 minutes long. There is a lake cruise as well if just want a boat ride. The highlight of this part is to see the Giant Pandas which were both out and active when I went through.
There is about an hour or so to eat - the best choice being at the area of the Night Safari entrance. The night safari opens at 7pm. The tram ride is good fun. Nearly all the animals are out - their food having been placed to encourage them to be visible and on show. The trails are good and allow you to see the animals with minimal lighting in the right time of the day for them. The creatures of the night show was fun and if you have time to see it is worth it. The advantage of this package is that transport to and from the zoo is much cheaper than trying to do it independently.
The tour was very well organized and our tour guide was very friendly and accommodating. The night safari was really worth it and a great experience, as we saw animals out in the open at night.
extremely well organised tour. Guide was excellent. appreciated hotel pick up and drop off. Zoo was amazing. it was hot and humid but many areas of the zoo are air conditioned. Pandas and manatees were our favourite. enjoyed the fire show, great performers.
Great seeing the animals. It was a very long day though.
The river safari was a bit of a misnomer as much of it is walking. There however two boating options included, 1 the river cruise a placid trip around the reservoir wit the highlight being spotting the giraffes and 2 Amazon quest which does highlight some amazing animals. It is worth going around at least twice to see the animals better the second time round.
The night safari was on the whole well done and we saw some amazing animals on sensitively lit areas. However the train ride at the time had one stop to begin and another to end with no stops in between. For those with some mobility issues there would be benefit in stopping at each station to hop on and hop off to make the most of the various walking trails.
As always the Night Safari is unique and informative. Combining with the River Safari makes for a very long day. Best to schedule for two different days if you can otherwise priority to the Night Safari.
The program was OK to start, we like the River Safari, but less so with the Night Safari. Especially after the Night Safari tram ride, the tour guide asked everyone to stay for additional 1.5 hours or so to wait for other people who want to explore more (on our own without the tour guide service). While we were already very tired, we don’t see the reason to wait for many different groups of people to get collected together to come back on the same transportation. We finally decided to come back by taxi on our own expense.
We were much happier with doing the zoo during the normal daylight hours. While it was interesting in parts to tour the area at night we found that it made for too long a day and was spoilt on this occasion at least by inconsiderate people. It was also difficult to get a meal as by the time we managed to be dropped off most of the food areas were packed and they were finding it difficult to keep up with the orders and food had often run out.
The company just left me stranded behind. It is with the help of the Zoo Authorities I could get back.
They in fact got in touch with him and he said he had left with the Van about 10 minutes ago.
I was waiting FOR AN HOUR and then he tells me I was there. Even Zoo authorities started looking for him.
I had to go back with a Taxi.
Earlier my daughter was so disappointed with the RIVER CRUISE that she decided to skip the NIGHT SAFARI and went back with a taxi.
Keeping all this in mind I think return of at least 50% of the price paid is justified.

Encounter more than 300 animal species at the river-themed wildlife park, from the manatees of the Amazon Flooded Forest to the Yangtze River zone where giant pandas dwell.
When the group leave the River Safari, you will have some leisure time to see more of the River Safari or take in dinner before joining the Night Safari Tour guide who will be arriving after 7pm at the Night Safari Entrance.
Skip the line and take the Priority Tram Ride through the Night Jungle and spot nocturnal mammals including shy inhabitants and forest predators, before getting up close to more creatures on a guided walk.
