Highly recommended, The tour did not disappoint but I wish we had more time at Lake Chuzenji, as the scenery was so beautiful it rivals the Zurich Lake. the town around Kegon falls was nice and quaint.
The Nikko Toshogu was great as well.
Great tour and guide! Loved the shrine and countryside. Tour guide was extremely informative. Enjoyed lunch
Wow! Nikko was an amazing place to visit. Everyone in my family loved the tour. Aside from beautiful Nikko, visiting the lake and falls was an added bonus. We especially enjoyed the fantastic, delicious lunch!
Would take this tour again in a second. Thanks Viator for making the experience one of the best in Japan!
Giulia did a great job on this tour. She knew her stuff and made some great suggestions for things to do on our own. We recommend this tour.
Words cannot do justice to the beautiful place Nikko is. You have to be there to really experience it. This was my 2nd tour with the same company. They are really professional, guide was excellent. They take care of every person on the tour. I was a solo traveler but didn't feel left out. The shrine was amazing, lake was absolutely beautiful and the marvel of this tour is the waterfall. Simply amazing.
Excellent day trip, good food, good sights, it’s a shame it was cloudy the day I went. Superb guide.
I highly recommend this tour for those who happen to be in Tokyo and do not have enough time to spend a night in Nikko. There are many beautiful sceneries to see and learn about the history of Japan.
There was an uncontrolled incident that caused a delay on our trip. However, Yoko, the guide, handled that very well. She proactively worked with us to reorganize the itinerary and ensured that we saw most attractions. Despite the fact that we ended up spending more time on the bus than at the actual sites, I did not regret taking the trip. It was fulfilled and I learned a lot from it.
We had such a lovely day trip with our very friendly host, Mika and very competent bus drivers. It was a day of beautiful scenery and great cultural awareness. I can highly recommend this trip and would advise on booking the delicious lunch as well.
Would have liike more time at Nikko. The Lake and Waterfall were nice but the main attraction of the tour was Nikko. 90minutes was too rushed. Unfortunately the tour commenced with having to pick up other tour party members from bus at down town Tokyo. Not withstanding the rush and long travel time to Nikko, the tour was enjoyed.
The tour started at the hotel where we quickly got on the bus and were off for Nikko. It took us about 3 hours to get there stopping at a rest stop at the halfway point. Our tour guide was very informative and kept us engaged during the ride with various pieces of information about that region, history and culture. We were at the temple for about 90 minutes which I felt was more then enough time to see. Then we had a very nice lunch in the town, after which we drove for another hour to the Lake Chuzenji where we only had about 15 minutes to take pictures and look at. Then we went to the Kegon Falls where we only had about 30 minutes for pictures. (Both of these areas are beautiful by the way). At the end of the trip we took the 3 hours bus ride back to Tokyo where we were dropped off at Shinjuku Station (very convenient). Overall I did enjoy the parts where we were off the bus nd sightseeing, however I felt that we spent more time on the bus then actual sightseeing, which is why I am giving this 4 stars.
Explore the scenic shrines and breathtaking countryside of Nikko National Park on a relaxing day trip from Tokyo. Famous for its stunning beauty amid natural surroundings, Nikko has been a center of Shinto and Buddhist mountain worship for centuries. With an informative guide, visit the ornate complex of Toshogu Shrine, a UNESCO World Heritage site decorated with wood carvings and gold leaf. Upgrade for a Japanese lunch, and then take in more sights at Lake Chuzenji and Kegon Falls. Enjoy round-trip coach transport.
