In the early morning, meet your local guide in a centrally located meeting spot. Strap on your helmet, jump on your bicycle, and begin your 6.5-hour tour of Tokyo.
Starting among the tall skyscrapers of Shinjuku, ride at a relaxed pace through backstreets to see a small shrine in a residential area, a great example of Tokyo's contrasting modern and traditional atmospheres.
Then, head over to Meiji-jingu, the city’s most famous Shinto religious site, through Yoyogi Park where cherry blossoms bloom in the spring. Take your time to walk around the peaceful gardens that surround the shrine with your guide.
Pedal your way to Japan’s Roppongi Hills entertainment complex through the main street of Omotesando — one of the most sophisticated shopping areas in all of Japan — and then take a backstreet to the Aoyama cemetery, which looks and feels like Tokyo 100 years ago.
Next, stop at a local supermarket to buy a bento box for lunch, just like local at your own expense. Then, visit Zōjō-ji temple where Tokyo Tower can be seen just behind.
Enjoy lunch on the waterfront just beside the Rainbow Bridge with panoramic views of the Tokyo skyline including the Aqua City Odaiba complex. After lunch, bike through the main and back streets of Ginza. Check out this exclusive shopping district then cycle your way to the Imperial Palace, home to a traditional Japanese garden, tea pavilion, stone walls, and a moat. Ride through the two outer gates of the castle, then follow along some of the large moat.
Head back to Shinjuku and to the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building. Ascend 48 floors in a high-speed elevator and enjoy the 360-degree view of Tokyo, including the Tokyo Skytree, and even Mt. Fuji on a clear day. Its then just a 5-minute ride back to the original meeting point where your tour concludes.

Gaku-san’s bicycle tour is a wonderful experience, to say the least. A brilliant way to witness just how grand Tokyo is. We saw a ton of the city first hand, and learned a great deal from our friendly host. The biking itself wasn’t even that tiring, as we made stops frequently enough to catch our breath. Gaku-San was very knowledgeable about the different areas of the city, and speaks very good English. We got to see areas of the city we never would have been able to otherwise and got to learn about life in Tokyo from a local’s perspective. The experience was more than worth the cost of admission. This was the first tour we took after getting to Tokyo and we couldn’t have been happier with our decision. Gaku-san, thank you again for showing us around the city!
1. Bikes were very good and working order. Mine had disc brakes and was a comfortable ride.
2. Gaku was a such a great guy and an excellent tour guide.
3. Instructions were clear and great. You will have a wonderful time with Gaku.
We got to see Mt. Fuji from the lookout. It was a very special moment that I won't forget.
Gaku was an amazing guide who gave us the support and confidence to get through even the most challenging traffic. The route took us around all of the key areas of the city and gave us an incredible vantage point that a bus or walking tour couldn't come close to in terms of coverage and details. Riding to Tokyo bay and having a picnic lunch was one of the highlights. Thanks Gaku for a great and memorable tour of Tokyo!
From start to finish, Gaku was an excellent guide. When we booked, he sent us detailed, step-by-step instructions on how to get to the meeting place - which was reassuring for us having no prior experience in Japan. When we met him, we were greeted with a big smile. We asked him for restaurant recommendations and he was quick to pull a few up on his phone (and they were amazing by the way!). The tour itself was 6.5 hours and yes about 20 miles but it was broken up well enough that it didn't feel tiring at any point. We are NOT avid cyclists so rest assured you can do it too! We felt safe on the pathways and streets. Gaku took pictures of us, answered questions, was very patient when we went to the supermarket and bought the entire store which he then carried in his own backpack until we reached our eating spot at Tokyo Bay! After the tour, Gaku went out of his way to help us purchase our Pasmo/Suica cards that we used for the rest of our trip. He later followed up with a link to the photos he had taken of us throughout the day. Overall this tour was exactly as described, worth every penny, and was a great introduction on our first day in Tokyo. Highly recommend!! Thank you Gaku!!
Gakuo was very kind and friendly i really enjoyed the tour. He was very informative about the locations we visited.
This bike trip was a nice way to take the measure of the city which is huge. According to Gaku (our guide), we rode more than 30 km... However it did not seemed so long. A peace of cake even in the heavy traffic since people are very respectful of each other. Gaku was super friendly and open-minded. He gave us many insights of the city. To resume we’ll do it again anytime...
This is a must do tour while in Tokyo, it was so much fun biking around the city with our guide Gaku and 4 others. I loved every minute of it!
Highly recommended way to see Tokyo. Covered a great deal of ground, saw many of the highlights of Toyko at a very acceptable pace. Gaku was excellant guide who enjoyed sharing his local knowledge with us. There were only four of us which made this a very personal guided tour. Great way to explore!!
Definitely recommend this tour. Gaku was great. Well organized and informative guide. Travelled at a good space, stopping at various points of interest. We stopped at a local supermarket to pick up a bento box for lunch and ate it overlooking the river.Gaku also took lots of photos of small group of four and emailed to us , a lovely personal touch. Do it.. you won't regret it ! Thanks Gaku we had a great time, and wish all the best ...Aileen and Trevor 😊😊
Fantastic way to see the city! Lots of biking overall, so be prepared for that. A few modest uphills, but usually you’d stop ever half hour or less.
Bike around Tokyo like a local as you explore the city’s highlights on this 6.5-hour/20miles(32km) tour. In a small group of no more than five, explore the city's bustling main streets, quiet backstreets, snaking alleys, and attractive hidden paths. Admire the Meiji-jingu shrine, Zōjō-ji temple, and Aoyama cemetery, as well as more modern landmarks including Roppongi Hills and the designer shops of Ginza. After a riverside lunch (own expense) conclude your tour at the top of a skyscraper.
