Paradiso

Paradiso turns a nineteenth-century former church near Leidseplein into an atmospheric setting for concerts and club nights in Amsterdam’s nightlife district.

Paradiso

Why go

The main hall gives live music an unmistakable frame: high ceilings, two balcony rings and tall illuminated windows above the stage. Its history runs from a liberal religious meeting hall through 1960s counterculture to eclectic contemporary programming inside one recognizable building.

What to look for

  • Three large former church windows glow above the main stage.
  • Two balcony rings bring the audience close to the tall central hall.
  • The city reopened the occupied building as a youth entertainment center in 1968.

Useful to know

  • Check the programme for both doors and performance times; entry is event-led.
  • Confirm the room as well as the address because Paradiso also uses smaller stages.
