Why go
The river landscape changes markedly upstream of Manavgat Waterfall: water opens into a reservoir enclosed by steep sides. A viewpoint or a separately arranged boat trip offers a way to appreciate that contrast. The concrete arch is an engineering landmark, but the visitor experience is the surrounding lake rather than an assumed tour of the power station.
What to look for
- The reservoir spreads through a narrow, steep-sided valley above the Manavgat River.
- The dam's curved concrete wall shows how an arch transfers water pressure into the gorge sides.
Useful to know
- Plan around a confirmed lake viewpoint or boat operator, not access to the dam structure.
- Combine the upstream scenery with Manavgat Waterfall to see how the river changes along its course.
