Neill-Cochran House Museum
Explore a Greek Revival house and preserved slave quarters near the university. Architecture and domestic collections are accompanied by interpretation of enslavement and the city’s development.
The main house and surviving quarters place very different living conditions on the same property. Reading them together makes the visit more than a tour of decorative rooms. The museum connects a prosperous household to the labor and unequal power that supported it, with exhibitions extending the story of Austin into the early twentieth century.
