Christ Church Cathedral
Christ Church Cathedral brings Nassau’s Anglican and civic history into a short downtown stop. Its Gothic limestone building and interior memorials reward a visit alongside the port streets.
Nassau became a city when Christ Church became a cathedral in 1861, giving this building a larger civic story. Look beyond its exterior to how the church relates to the nearby streets and museums. It is best folded into a downtown walk.
What to look for
Limestone Gothic walls, stained glass and memorial plaques stand on Nassau’s early church site.
