Why go
This southbound Karangasem route offers a gentler alternative to the Besakih day and works best after a night in Amed. Begin with the coast before moving inland to Tirta Gangga's dense garden organized around spring water. Taman Ujung follows with broader pools, bridges and exposed terraces, making the contrast between the two royal sites clear. The route can finish near Candidasa or continue south, but should not be attempted as a rushed out-and-back from southern Bali. Keep Amed as a real morning anchor and drop one water palace if the start runs late.
