Why go
The Mutual Building adds a distinctive Victorian facade to a walk through Bridgetown’s commercial centre. Built in 1895 for a Caribbean insurance society, it combines paired domes with ornate ironwork above street level. The best use of time here is to examine the exterior from the public sidewalk and notice how it sits among later shops. The building remains in use, and public tours of its interior are not established. Keep clear of traffic while looking up.
What to look for
- The paired silver domes.
- The ornate cast-iron balcony.
- The Victorian facade among Lower Broad Street shops.
Useful to know
- Use the public sidewalk for an exterior view; do not assume interior entry.
