Palau Robert
Palau Robert is a former aristocratic residence with exhibitions and a garden at the upper end of Passeig de Gràcia. It works well as a short cultural pause while exploring the Eixample.
Why go
Completed in 1903 for Robert Robert i Surís, the stone palace shows a restrained late neoclassical face amid the boulevard's better-known Modernista buildings. Its garden offers another way to read the property as a residence rather than simply an exhibition venue. The current displays determine whether to plan a longer stop, but the building's setting rewards a look even on a busy Passeig de Gràcia walk.
What to look for
The late neoclassical stone façade differs from nearby Modernista landmarks.
Ramon Oliva designed the residence's garden.
The palace now hosts exhibitions in a former private home.
Useful to know
Check the current exhibition programme before planning an extended visit.
Use it as a pause while walking Passeig de Gràcia and the neighbouring Eixample streets.
