Why go
This is a first walk through the older heart of Belgrade for visitors who prefer streets, public spaces and views to a packed museum schedule. Republic Square provides a central starting point before the pedestrian stretch of Knez Mihailova Street. Let Kalemegdan be one generous park and fortress visit, including its internal monuments rather than dividing them into separate appointments. The final short walk reaches Bajrakli Mosque in Dorćol, viewed from outside. The day is flexible: linger at the river outlook or take a slower stroll through the street, while keeping the same easy geographic arc.
