Why go
The park grew around nineteenth-century landmarks and remains a distinct green break from the central squares. The old plane tree in front of Prince Miloš's residence gives the landscape a tangible sense of age. Walk beyond the residence to see how woodland, paths and monuments share the valley.
What to look for
- A large old plane tree stands before the Residence of Prince Miloš.
- Historic monuments and fountains punctuate the park.
- Wooded paths offer a different pace from central Belgrade.
Useful to know
- Allow a separate park outing rather than squeezing Topčider into a brief central-city walk.
- Choose daylight for the paths and check the residence separately if you hope to go inside.
