Old Bergen Museum
Old Bergen is an open-air museum of relocated wooden houses and period streets north of the centre. It lets visitors walk through an older domestic cityscape.
The museum is useful for understanding the ordinary wooden Bergen that existed beyond Bryggen’s famous merchant buildings. Houses and staged historical settings turn that contrast into a walkable experience, with more outdoor time than most city museums. Some interiors or activities may be seasonal, while the grounds have different access arrangements; check the city museum’s current programme before visiting.
