Euskal Museoa Bilbao
Euskal Museoa brings Basque material culture and Biscay's archaeology into a historic building by Plaza Unamuno. It is a useful indoor counterpoint to a walk through Bilbao's old quarter.
The museum links objects of daily life to the longer history of the Basque Country. Its older collections cover subjects from archaeology and seafaring to pastoral life, textiles and local conflicts, while the former Jesuit college gives those displays a setting with its own history. The renewed institution uses the name Euskal Museoa, so look for that name when checking the current galleries.
