Why go
This route is for visitors who want a readable sequence of Bologna’s medieval streets and buildings without making a tower climb the point of the day. The Museo Civico Medievale gives context before the short walk to the cathedral. At the Two Towers, look from street level; do not plan an Asinelli climb. Palazzo Pepoli then connects the city’s history to its streets, and Santo Stefano ends the walk with a very different cluster of religious spaces. The museum visits take the most time, so keep the tower pause brief and check current museum access before committing to both interiors.
