Park Street
Park Street climbs steeply from College Green towards the Wills Memorial Building. The climb gives a strong city view and links several central sights, but it asks more effort than its map distance suggests.
Looking uphill, the Wills Memorial Building closes the view and makes the street's slope part of the scene. Shops and cultural premises occupy the route, while side streets hold traces of different chapters in Bristol's history. It is a useful connection between the cathedral area and the university quarter.
What to look for
The Wills Memorial Building stands at the crest of the hill.
The incline changes the view with every block.
Historic facades sit alongside present-day shops and arts spaces.
Useful to know
Walk downhill from the university if you want an easier route.
Allow extra time for the steep climb from College Green.
Link the walk with Bristol Museum & Art Gallery near the upper end.
