Mosque of Sultan al-Mu’ayyad Shaykh
Beside Bab Zuwayla at the southern end of al-Mu’izz Street, this Mamluk mosque has a courtyard and funerary dome. Its minarets rise from the older gate’s towers.
The mosque is a distinct interior visit from the Fatimid gate beside it. A central fountain, four surrounding prayer arcades and a surviving burial dome show how the complex worked. Step outside afterward to compare its Mamluk minarets with Bab Zuwayla’s earlier defensive towers. Confirm current entry and prayer access.
