Great Ball Court of Chichén Itzá
Chichén Itzá’s Great Ball Court offers a distinct stop within the site, where tall parallel walls, stone rings and carved panels frame a monumental playing space.
The court changes the focus from the vertical mass of pyramids to a long space organised around a game with ritual significance. Its rings and relief-lined lower walls invite closer observation after taking in the overall scale. The temples at the ends further connect the playing area with the ceremonial life of the surrounding city.
